Fantastic! Gorgeous time of the year to come. October Columbus weekend. We stayed in a 10 sleeper cabin. Very well heated! Bunk bed mattress could be softer so bring more bedding if you need. Staff delivered meals to cabin. Meals were delicious and vegan options were excellent! Not going to dining hall was ideal so we could save time, change and continue activities!
Beautiful and well-kept grounds with lots of activities to do, including boating on the lake and swimming at a nearby waterfall. I've come here two years in a row with program mates. It's not easy to keep 100+ people happy but the staff always does with a smile and professional attitude. Fun fact: Frost Valley is the oldest YMCA in the country!
Fun place, cool staff, fun activities, dorms are nice and spacious. but the food is kinda bad, especially that pizza. Too thick, too oily, got a strange taste, felt microwaved. no way yall can ruin the pizza this much.
Beautiful location and great marketing, but a huge disappointment. Our 8-year-old and a few of his friends from our village attended the third two-week summer session, which recently ended.
The letters (and subsequent stories) our 8-year-old shared were heartbreaking. We reached out to the counselors via email and were advised that everything would be ok. The letters continued, albeit with a severe delay. With our concern growing, I attempted to reach out to someone in charge to get to the bottom of the matter. I left voicemails which went unanswered.
Summer camp should be full of positive lifelong memories, not a traumatic experience involving bullying, limitations of activities based on height, and lack of ownership by the counselors and those they report to. Needless to say, we will not be sending our son back next year.
**We are still trying to find someone accountable at Frost Valley, but continue to spin our wheels.
Frost Valley has gone woke! Why they discuss politics with campers is beyond me!! The counselors force the campers to address other campers by they/them. Avoid sending your child here by all means! It is a camp for brainwashing. I will never send my child here again.
There were so many activities offered I couldn't believe it! The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food was good and plentiful. I definitely want to return.
Awesome staff, good food. Accommodations are rustic but overall the place is well run, and the activities are super engaging for children of all ages.
Frost Valley is my favorite place on Earth. The hiking is great and the lodges are beautiful!! The food is good and the people are even better.
